"This card is issued in accordance with a written agreement signed by the party or parties to whom the same is issued, and the terms and conditions expressed in said agreement govern the right to possess and use this card.

"This card is the property of the Hotel and Restaurant Employees' and Bartenders' International Union and cannot be bought, sold, or transferred.

"Whenever demand is made by the H. & R. E. & B. I. U. for the surrender of this card, it is agreed that the party or parties possessing same will give peaceable possession to the International Union named or its duly authorized agent or representative.

"The holder of this card agrees to comply with the laws, rules and regulations of the International Union named and the local Union affiliated with said International having jurisdiction in the locality in which the establishment possessing the card is located.

"This card can only be displayed by authority of the Hotel and Restaurant Employees' and Bartenders' International Union and only by those who have entered into contractual relations with a good standing Local Union affiliated with the International, or have entered into contractual relations with the International direct.

"Anyone displaying this card without such authority will be prosecuted with the laws of the State where the card is issued and will be held liable for such damages and costs as the International Union or its affiliates have suffered or have been put to virtue of the improper or unlawful use of this card.

"This card is registered in accordance with the laws of the United States, the laws of the States and of the Government of Canada."
